Every year facial aesthetics and non-invasive treatments grow in popularity. At West LA Medical & Skincare, we pride ourselves in being at the forefront of the aesthetics industry.

Not only are all our treatments carried out by a fully certified physician, but we constantly improve our products, procedures and treatments.

So, which treatments are our clients loving for 2019?

Fillers

Fillers have come a long way in the last few years. Natural results and glowing skin are the least you can expect.

  • How do they work?

Restylane, Versa, Belotero, and Juvederm are FDA approved fillers that enhance your collagen by adding more volume. Fillers are injected into the facial tissue. As they are collagen-like products, they return fullness and volume to the desired area. The treatment takes around 30 minutes and patients see results immediately.

  • What do they treat?

Fillers can be used in several ways. Not only do they smooth-out wrinkles and deep folds in the facial area, but they can be used to even out features, contour and reshape irregularities. Smile lines, frown lines and misshapen noses can all be treated with these injections. Fillers are also a popular for lip enhancement, producing more definition and fullness.

  • What are the results?

Results are immediately obvious and continue to improve over the following week. The new plump skin can last for 8-24 months.

Peels

Chemical peels are a simple, quick and non-invasive way to give your skin a boost.

  • How does it work?

There are several different solutions that can be used in chemical peels, depending on your skin type, skin concerns, and desired results: Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, and combination of these compounds.

Each compound has a unique mechanism of action that can stimulate skin cells, or decrease oiliness, or to slough off various thicknesses of dead skin cells to reveal new ones beneath. These medical-grade chemicals should only be applied by a physician.

  • What does it treat?

Chemical Peels are effective at treating fines lines, wrinkles and rough skin textures. It can also treat sun damage, acne, age spots, scarring, and enlarged pores.

  • What are the results?

After one treatment, skin will appear fresher and more rejuvenated. Over several treatments, the skins overall texture, tone, and appearance will noticeably improve.

Microneedling

Microneedling is fast becoming one of the most popular aesthetic treatments on the market.

  • How does it work?

Microneedling is the process of creating microscopic punctures across the skin, using a medical device with tiny needles. The physician controls the device and the depth of penetration. The depth determines the level of the skin the doctor is treating, and goal of the treatment. Deeper penetration is used to treat severe acne scars and fine lines, while shallower penetration is used to deliver anti-aging products direct to where they are needed most.

  • What does it treat?

This treatment improves the appearance of scars, boosts collagen production, tightens skin, and produces fresh looking, rejuvenated skin. Treatments are not performed on areas of the skin with active acne, eczema, or rosacea.

  • What are the results?

According to a 2008 study, skin treated with four microneedling sessions, spaced one month apart, produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin fibres within six months after completing treatment.[1] Keeping treatments at least a month apart ensures that the skin continues to look natural and fresh, rather than tight and plastic-like.
